Basically, I’m posting Toyotas I like for sale.
I mean, of course.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I would have bought this without thinking. It’s basically a 4-door Celica of its era, except fuzzier.

No celica mention?
![]() 04/02/2016 at 23:12 |

I did call that Corona liftback a 4-door Celica
![]() 04/02/2016 at 23:13 |

I could try to get authorship and add some posts for you to read if that would make it less slow

Isn’t it basically a Celica Camry?
![]() 04/02/2016 at 23:15 |
|
That doesn’t sound Celica-related to me.

Effectively.

Nice.

I like that Corona.

I kind of badly want it. I’d overlook the auto in exchange for the “Luxury Edition” badge. What happened with that Tercel?

Never is. I only want to talk about kittens and potatoes tonigh. Maybe find a Celica loaded with kittens and potatoes?
![]() 04/02/2016 at 23:21 |

Are the potatoes fried?

Needs more puppy update.

It HAS been a while hour since the last one... I’ll write one up immediately
![]() 04/02/2016 at 23:23 |

Hell yeah!
![]() 04/02/2016 at 23:24 |
|
I’ll allow it
(not really though I can’t give you authorship)

the Corona’s and Celicas weren’t properly related until the next generation. Toyota made the Carina at the time which was properly a 4-door Celica, later on the 3 shared the same platform.
I used to have a T130 sedan with the 1x, a Toyota version of the Holden
Misfire
Starfire. I also had an ST141 with a 2SC. One review I read of the T130 mentioned “it has to downshift to drive over it’s own shadow”

I got it! But it needs an alternator. Which should be easy enough to obtain and easy to swap except apparently there was a misunderstanding on my need to get out of town.
I have totally fallen in love with it.

Perhaps so, but they were both RWD, liftbacks, and powered by the same engine. And yeah — an auto would be slightly terrifying. Which is funny because the manual in my Celica (RE though) feels so good.

Holy butt groove Batman!
That seat was getting pulled up somewhere in a bad way!

That custom cab is pretty amazing. A 4wd, manual, TURBO. That’s a Jalop trifecta.

pretty much every Toyota was rear wheel drive and powered by the same engines back then.
I wouldn’t touch a T130 auto, it would be easy as to find a 5 speed W55 to fit, at least where I live anyway.

just bought a 94 pickup as a little project for my dad & I, it's been pretty fun working on it.

I see no announcement post! I’m hurt.

Actually like the look of the custom cab. Did that extra space come out of the bed?

If I ever get out of Flagstaff it'll happen! I didn't bring any pricey electronics in case they were bad people.
![]() 04/03/2016 at 00:31 |

Nope! It was a custom aftermarket job done by a fab shop in Oregon in the 80s. They did it for the long beds too.

I’m pretty jealous though. I still look to see if any are for sale probably every day. The answer is NO :(

I can’t tell you how relieved I am to hear you say that. That sounds weird. I love the car, or I wouldn’t have gotten it, but one of the techs I’ve had to deal with on this trip made me feel like absolute crap for a few hours because who would spend actual money on a 30-year-old underpowered miniature SUV? Then I remembered my sister spent more on her moron of a dog. But it’s been a bit of an emotional trip. The banana slug, as I’ve named it, is exactly what I was hoping for and that’s all that really matters!

Those non-believers. You never really get it until you actually get in one. Also pretty dick for someone to belittle your taste in vehicles. I mean, it’s a low-cost low-risk experiment. You have the rest of your life to drive a Corolla. Now is that time for odd cars!

If only Toyota brought over the crewcab HiLux from overseas, no one would have had to make that fiberglass monstrosity
